It is the U.S. Department of Education’s major type of self-help help and it is available through the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program. There are two main kinds of Federal Direct Loans: unsubsidized and subsidized. The difference that is primary the 2 loans may be the point of which interest starts to accrue:

  • Subsidized Loan interest is compensated by the authorities while the pupil is enrolled. Interest begins to accrue while the pupil’s six-month grace duration starts once the learning pupil debtor graduates, ceases become enrolled, or drops below half-time enrollment.
